Rufus is a Photographer and Visual Effects Artist. Drawing on both these skills, he has spent the past two years developing a number of new techniques for shooting time-lapse photography.

Rufus was trained at Rushes Post Production, one of London’s leading VFX houses. He then moved to Malaysia working for a boutique VFX house in Kuala Lumpur. While in Malaysia he realised the potential for Digital VFX Based Time-Lapse Photography. With a new Digital SLR he made the most of beautiful South-East Asia. Notching up shoots in Thailand, Singapore, India and of course Malaysia.

Over a two year period he refined the techniques, then headed for the Himalayas, one of the best time-lapse locations in the world. Reaching altitudes of up to 5400m and temperatures of -10℃ in the moody monsoon season he was able to capture some stunning images.

Upon returning from the Himalayas Rufus was signed by National Geographic. He is also working back at Rushes Post Production.

All time-lapse sequences are produced HD uncompressed from start to finish, and all have been checked back on a broadcast monitor.
