Russ has been involved in nature photography since 1990, and shooting digital video since 1998. His main subject matter is wildlife/nature and scenics, with an emphasis on Alaska and British Columbia. Recent trips to Hokkaido Japan to video winter wildlife have supplemented his video clip library. Russ has recently changed to the UHD 4K format, using a JVC LS300, and has plans to further upgrade to the BlackMagic Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K system in the very near future.   Russ's clients have included National Geographic, the BBC, TBS Japan, ARD Germany, ZDF Mainz, Natural History New Zealand, and independent film makers.
